about HIFU skin tightening

HIFU or High-intensity focused ultrasound is a non-surgical treatment that tightens, lifts and firms the skin. The energy from the HIFU device penetrates deep into the skin and muscle to stimulate the production of collagen for complete rejuvenation. This treatment is between 30-60 minutes and has no downtime, causing only slight redness.

HIFU works on the Muscle Fascia (SMAS) deep below the skin, which is the area surgeons tighten for face and neck lifts. Instead of surgery, theHIFU harnesses ultrasound technology to radiate energy to the SMAS layer to tighten, lift and plump the skin. What’s more, treatment takes just under an hour and results are seen immediately, while the improvements continue to be seen for up to 9 months as your collagen is renewed.

Four multi-depth cartridges directly transfer ultrasound energy into multiple layers of the face to trigger collagen renewal for tighter, younger complexion; while MMFU (micro-macro focused ultrasound) technology transfer an equal distribution of ultrasound energy into the subcutaneous tissue, applying high-intensity focused ultrasound at temperatures of 65-75°C. This causes micro-coagulation and subcutaneous fat micro-reduction which in term creates the desired facelift. The practitioner reviews the skin condition and uses the appropriate depth for each part of the face, including the smaller harder to treat areas like the eyes.

Ultrasound technology is completely safe and has been used in medicine for decades; it works by contracting and shortening muscle fibres, which causes the lifting and tightening effect.

About the procedure

At your consultation, we will take a full medical history and assess your suitability for the treatment. We will then coordinate a custom treatment plan with you, based on your concerns and what you would like to achieve from the treatment. During the HIFU treatment, we will:

  • Clean the area to be treated with a soft cleanser
  • Outline target areas
  • Conduct a test shot to determine your pain toleration
Your treatment will then commence. This involves moving the handpiece over the area and delivering pulses of energy to receive the desired effect. Your treatment might be slightly uncomfortable but should not be painful and any discomfort should quickly subside immediately after treatment.

What can we treat with HIFU?
